Addressing the United Nations Security Council’s meeting on Tuesday on the situation in Somalia, Tra lauded a recent visit to Somali by UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed to promote the role of women in the country.
She condemned violent acts, sexual violence and attacks targeting civilians, especially women and children, including the terrorist attack on September 25, stressing the need to bring the culprits to light.
Vietnam also called on international partners to increase assistance to the Somalian Government in mitigating socio-economic impacts caused by locust plague, floods, drought and the COVID-19 pandemic, while assisting women-led development projects in Somalia.
