Vietnam calls on parties to honor long-term ceasefire agreement in Libya
(VOVWORLD) - The UN Security Council held an online meeting Tuesday to discuss Libya. Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy, head of Vietnam’s mission to the UN, praised the decision to accept a long-term ceasefire and hold an election.

The Ambassador reaffirmed Vietnam's support for a comprehensive political solution led and owned by the Libyan people, based on respect for Libya's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
Ambassador Quy called on all parties to honor the long-term ceasefire agreement to make possible an eventual election. The Ambassador said the Security Council should release a statement supporting the ceasefire agreement and a monitoring mechanism that ensures close cooperation with all stakeholders in Libya.
