Vietnam calls on warring factions in Libya to end conflict

(VOVWORLD) - At a UN Security Council online meeting on Tuesday to discuss the situation in Libya, UN members raised concerns about attacks targeting civilians.

They called on warring factions to end hostilities, honor a humanitarian truce, and find a political solution for their conflict.
Ambassador Pham Hai Anh, Deputy Head of the Vietnam mission to the UN, call on all parties to respect international law, end violence against civilians, and support humanitarian aid during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mr. Anh expressed his support for a political solution that respects Libya’s independence and sovereignty. He urged all warring parties to resume negotiations as soon as possible. He said all countries have a responsibility to obey international law and prevent crime.
