Vietnam, Cambodia seek to strengthen defense ties

(VOVWORLD) - Defense Minister General Ngo Xuan Lich hosted a reception in Hanoi on Tuesday for General Vong Pisen, General Commander of the Cambodian Royal Armed Forces who is on a 3-day official visit to Vietnam from Monday.

Minister Lich lauded the achievements that the Cambodian people and Royal Armed Forces have made, expressing his belief that General Vong Pisen’s visit would help reinforce and strengthen the friendship, solidarity and comprehensive and sustainable cooperation traditionally enjoyed between the two countries and their armies as well.

During earlier talks with Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army Phan Van Giang, General Vong Pisen voiced his wish that the strong relationship between the two countries’ armies will continue to be fostered, contributing to the steadiness of the longstanding partnership between the two countries, and ensuring  stability and political security in Vietnam and Cambodia.
