Vietnam celebrates its 67th National Day on September 2nd

 

(VOVworld)-Ho Chi Minh City held a meeting on Sunday to mark the 67th National Day on September 2. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and the municipal leaders paid tribute at Ho Chi Minh Museum and attended the opening ceremony of an exhibition highlighting Vietnam’s 67 years of national construction and defense. The Chairman of People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan was addressing the ceremony:“The spirit of the August Revolution and the National Day on September 2 will stay in the Vietnamese people’s mind forever. The municipal citizens pledge to try their best for further progress in socio economic development, national construction and defense for a prosperous country, equal society and socialism.”

 Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and the city’s leaders presented awards to outstanding individuals and businesses in recognition of their contribution to national construction and defense.

In the southern province of Bac Lieu, local leaders and people made an incense offering to Ho Chi Minh temple in Vinh Loi District.

 In Tien Giang province, hundreds of local people gathered for an anniversary of Ho Chi Minh’s death at Tran Thanh Binh’s house. This is the 15th time Binh hosted such as ceremony to recall Ho Chi Minh’s revolutionary career: “The event is to remind people of Ho Chi Minh’s foundation of the Communist Party of Vietnam and his life devotion to the nation and people.”

 Tran Huu Son from the northern province of Lao Cai’s Department of Culture, Tourism and Sports said September 2 has been celebrated jubilantly among ethnic groups:“We have experience busy market sessions during the National Day, including Bac Ha and Muong Khuong in Lao Cai. The H’mong people travel across the forest to Moc Chau and joint he celebration with the H’mong people in Son La.”

 Vu Thi Pang from Moc Chau district, Son La province: “We are happy to celebrate the National Day and travel a long way to join the festival together. We have a better life thanks to Uncle Ho and the Party”

 Numerous art performances take place in Hanoi to mark the National Day. A live show jointly produced by Vietnam Television and Voice of Vietnam features a giant ceramic national flag in Truong Sa island and latest creative works by photographers and musicians. Vietnamese embassies  including those in Canada and Mexico also held meetings to mark the National Day.
