Vietnam chairs meeting of UNSC’s Informal Working Group on International Tribunals
(VOVWORLD) - The United Nations Security Council (UNSC)’s Informal Working Group on International Tribunals convened its second meeting in 2020 on Friday under the chair of Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy, head of the Vietnamese Mission to the UN and chairman of the group.

In his opening address, Ambassador Quy thanked the contributions by members to the overall agenda of the working group. He reiterated the commitment of Vietnam, as Chair of the working group, to promoting dialogues among the working group, the Chair, the prosecutors, and the assistants.
The Informal Working Group on International Tribunals was established in June, 2000. Apart from the working group, Vietnam is holding the Chairmanship of the UNSC’s South Sudan Sanctions Committee and the Lebanon Sanctions Committee. each presidency lasts for two years and is held by non-permanent members.
