Vietnam confirms 12 new COVID-19 cases, 976 in total

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s count of COVID-19 cases have risen to 976 after 12 more cases were detected on Monday, according to the National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

6 of the new cases are linked to the Da Nang outbreak, 4 from the northern province of Hai Duong, 1 from Hanoi, and 1 imported case who was quarantined upon arrival.  

The patients in Da Nang, aged between 33-59, are three family members of a COVID-19 patient, a medical worker in Da Nang Hospital, a guard at the hospital and a resident of Thanh Khe district.

The 25-year-old female patient in Hanoi's Hai Ba Trung district had close contact with COVID-19 patient 962. She is being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases No 1 in the capital city.

The 4 patients in Hai Duong, aged between 13-41, are all linked to the virus outbreak in the province's Ngo Quyen street which earlier recorded five cases of COVID-19. They are all being treated at the Hai Duong Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

The imported male patient, 42, is one of the workers who returned from Equatorial Guinea on July 29. He is treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases No 1. 

465 COVID-19 patients in Vietnam have recovered and 24 have died.
