Vietnam, Cuba look to promote legislative ties

(VOVWORLD) - Cuba hopes to learn from Vietnam’s experience during its current process of constitutional amendment, stated General Secretary of the Confederation of Cuban Workers Ulises Guilarte Nacimiento.

The Cuban official made his statement at a meeting with Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Uong Chu Luu in Hanoi on Friday. At the meeting, Luu acknowledged that Vietnam - Cuba bilateral political ties are being fortified via a regular exchange of delegations, particularly high-ranking ones. The exchange has been carried out between the parties, governments, parliaments, sectors, and localities of the two countries, the official added. He said the improvement in functional dialogues and theoretical discussions, as well as the increasing exchange of opinions at international organizations and local forums, have so far strengthened Vietnamese-Cuban solidarity and comprehensive cooperation.

Ulises Guilarte Nacimiento expressed his hope that both sides will continue to boost cooperation and exchanges in legislation and oversight, pledging to do his best to promote bilateral ties between Vietnam and Cuba.
