(VOVworld)- Spokesperson for the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Luong Thanh Nghi said yesterday that recent activities by the Chinese are serious violation of Vietnam’s sovereignty, sovereign rights and jurisdiction in the East Sea and Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos. Nghi was responding to questions about China’s announcement concerning its enforcement of coastal border security regulations for Hainan, its recent exercise on Quang Hoa Island in the Hoang Sa archipelago, its provision of 3D and CDMA services on Chu Thap (Stone Cross) in the Truong Sa archipelago, and its approval of a Sanya City tourism development plan for 2012-2022 which includes cruises to islands in the Hoang Sa archipelago. He said those activities further complicate the situation in the East Sea and run counter to the spirit of the Declaration on Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC),  describing them as unhelpful to peace and stability in the region as well as the Vietnam-China relations. Nghi said Vietnam resolutely opposes and demands that China immediately halt these illegal activities.
