Vietnam denounces terrorist bomb at Iran’s Embassy in Lebanon

(VOVworld) – A spokesman from the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry on Thursday answered reporters’ question on Vietnam’s comment on the terrorist bomb outside the Iranian Embassy in Lebanon on Tuesday which killed 23 people and injured 146 others. Spokesman Le Hai Binh said:
"Vietnam denounces the suicide-bomb attack targeting Iran’s Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon on November 19 which killed and injured several people. Vietnam would like to send its deepest condolences to the victims’ families and the criminals must be punished."
Regarding relief for Vietnamese victims of typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, Mr. Binh said that when Vietnam got information about the typhoon’s destructive consequences and its effects on Vietnamese people, the Vietnamese Embassy immediately contacted the local authorities and got access to the typhoon affected areas. "The Vietnamese Embassy in the Philippine has contacted all Vietnamese living in the typhoon affected areas. They are in safe conditions and there were no casualties among Vietnamese people. The Embassy is working closely with the local authority, functional agencies in Vietnam, and the Vietnamese community in the Philippines to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese victims to normalize their lives or return to their homeland at their wish" said Binh.
Mr. Binh spoke about some major upcoming external affairs including the Mekong River Delta’s Economic Cooperation Forum to be held in Vinh Long province on November 25-26. The forum will introduce foreign partners to the advantages of Vietnam’s Mekong delta, creating a momentum for the region’s economic development.
