Vietnam, Egypt boost cooperation between localities

(VOVWORLD) - Egypt’s coastal governorates of Damietta and Port Said worked with Vietnamese Ambassador Tran Thanh Cong on Wednesday to boost diplomatic, economic, and cultural activities.

Ambassador Cong proposed more seminars and trade promotion events to connect enterprises from both countries and help them explore each other’s strengths. Agriculture, seafood, industrial and medical equipment, timber, garments, and textiles are Vietnam’s strong suits, he said.
Damietta Governor Manal Awad and Port Said Governor Adel e-Ghadban said they look forward to Vietnam’s greater investment in processing zones. They promised favorable treatment for Vietnamese cargo ships passing through the Suez Canal.
