(VOVWORLD) -Suz Jessep, CEO of the Asia-New Zealand Foundation, said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s official visit is an opportunity for New Zealand and Vietnam to further strengthen their relationship at the highest level and exchange views on a range of important issues to both.

Mr. Chinh’s visit to New Zealand began on Saturday and runs through Monday.
Ms. Jessep said that after nearly 5 decades of establishing diplomatic ties in 1975, New Zealand and Vietnam have promoted comprehensive relations in defense and security, sports, science, and technology, arts, people-to-people exchanges, among others.
She noted that Vietnam has now risen to become a regional trade and innovation center and New Zealand can learn a lot from Vietnam's experience, thereby working together to respond to climate change and addressing transboundary challenges.
According to Jessep, the two countries have great potential to develop cooperative relations in most fields, adding in April, the Asia-New Zealand Foundation will send a group of young New Zealand leaders to Vietnam to learn about the country, economy, history and build relationships with Vietnamese young leaders.
In May, the Foundation will lead a delegation of arts managers to Vietnam to get to know Vietnam's growing art scene and connect with Vietnamese art makers.
