(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Wednesday had separate meetings with Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on the sidelines of the 43rd ASEAN Summit and related meetings in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Prime Minister Chinh proposed that Japan coordinate with Vietnam to fruitfully implement economic and ODA cooperation projects, and provide assistance for Vietnam to develop the North - South high-speed railway as well as urban railways in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

At the meeting with the Republic of Korea’s President Yoon Suk Yeol, the two leaders agreed to promote cooperation in trade, investment, and education and affirmed to work closely to further develop the Vietnam-Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
President Yoon Suk Yeol said that Vietnam is a key partner of South Korea in its Indo-Pacific Strategy. He thanked the Vietnamese Government for creating favorable conditions for South Korean businesses to invest in Vietnam.

At the meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam attaches great importance to Canada's role in its foreign policy and looks forward to welcoming Prime Minister Trudeau to visit Vietnam soon.
He expressed his hope that Canada would create favorable conditions for Vietnamese goods to be exported to Canada, promote cooperation in new fields, including digital transformation, green growth, climate change response, and science and technology, provide more scholarships for Vietnamese students, and enhance tourism cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.
Prime Minister Trudeau said that the Canadian Minister of Trade will lead a business delegation to Vietnam next year to explore business and investment opportunities. Canada will support Vietnam in implementing its commitments on labor and environment mentioned in the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
