Meeting Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh in Brussels on Wednesday, EU Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmström lauded Vietnam for ratifying the International Labor Organization (ILO)’s Convention 98 and amending Vietnam’s Labor Code. The two sides discussed cooperation frameworks and opportunities and challenges facing Vietnam and its EU partners in expanding and improving bilateral economic, trade, and investment ties. Vietnam, EU countries, and Trade Commissioner Malmström are stepping up efforts to complete the signing of the EVFTA later this month in Hanoi.

Belgium was part of Minister Anh’s trip to some EU countries, including Romania, Italy, and Spain this week.
