Vietnam exports grow 4 times in 10 years
(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Alibaba Group have jointly held a workshop to review Vietnam’s exports this year.
Participants said that thanks to an open-door policy and active global trade integration, Vietnam earned 244 billion USD from export revenue last year, 4 times higher a decade ago. Deputy CEO of OSB Investment and Technology Company, Tran Dinh Toan, said more application of e-commerce tools by SMEs will boost exports. He added: “E-commerce has been an inevitable business trend. A mindset change and willingness to invest are crucial for business growth. A detailed plan to invest in e-commerce applications should be included in business strategy.”
Chairman of Vietnam E-commerce Association, Nguyen Thanh Hung, said online export has been a key channel for business trading activities. “E-commerce is a major opportunity to boost exports. I expect export revenue generated by e-commerce will quadruple over the next 5 years with more successful business in this field,” Hung said.
