(VOVworld) - Vietnamese representative at the UN Human Rights Commission has voiced concern about Boko Haram terrorist acts. During a special session by the commission in Geneva on Thursday, more than 70 members and observers of the commission denounced Boko Haram’s systematic and widespread violations of women and children’s rights.
They voiced their unity and urged the African Unity and United Nations relevant mechanisms to prevent the acts. Vietnam voiced its solidarity with African nations and welcomed international efforts to maintain peace and security in the region to foster human rights.
The Commission issued a resolution denouncing Boko Haram’s terrorist acts and asked the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to submit a field report to the next session this September.
