Vietnam focuses on digital transformation in remaining months of 2024
(VOVWORLD) - Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung underscored the task promoting national digital transformation, developing the digital economy, building a digital society, and strengthening State management of press, publishing, and information on cyberspace.

Hung made the request at a conference to review the sector’s work in the first half of this year and set out tasks for the second half on Monday in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to preliminary report, the Ministry of Information and Communications’ revenue totaled 79 billion USD in the first half of the year, up 27% against last year. As of June, the sector had employed a total of 1.5 million people, up 1.3% against last year.
In the remaining months, the Ministry will focus on promoting national digital transformation and completing the strategy for Vietnam's semiconductor industry until 2030 with a vision to 2050 to submit it to the Prime Minister.
It will also work on a cooperative agreement with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry on supporting trade investment promotion and commercialization of make-in-Vietnam digital technology products in the next two years.
