Phan Van Mai, Secretary of Ben Tre provincial Party Committee, said, “Developing the region’s marine economy, including seafood, fisheries, clean energy, maritime transportation, and urban services, is a strategy for turning the challenges of climate change into development opportunities for the Mekong Delta”.

Delegates said Vietnam needs to narrow the development gap between areas, focusing on poverty reduction and ethnic minority groups. Mr. A Pot, Vice Secretary of Kon Tum province’s Party Committee, said, “Our localities have effectively implemented a campaign to raise awareness and change the production practices of ethnic minority people. We also need to maintain political stability, ensure national defense and social order, and promote unity among ethnic minority groups”.
