Vietnam, France boost education cooperation

(VOVworld) – Vietnam’s Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan is on a working visit to France from June 4
th – 9
th to enhance bilateral education opportunities. Last Friday, Minister Luan joined education ministers from 44 other member states of the International Organization of the Francophonie at the Meeting of Francophone Education Ministers on the development of a French-language digital space. They focused their discussions on digital sources, and how to develop a digital system to increase the quality of teaching in tertiary education. They also agreed to intensify information sharing and the use of digital academic materials at higher education facilities through the establishment of a Francophone e-portal.
On Monday, Minister Luan held talks with Najat Vallaud-Belkacem, French Minister of Education, Higher Education and Research, during which they discussed and agreed on measures to foster bilateral ties in education and training, particularly scholarship granting, and Vietnamese-language teaching for overseas Vietnamese in France. They also signed an agreement between the two ministries in the recognition of training qualifications for students. In her interview granted to the Vietnam News Agency, the French minister said that her ministry would consider updating policies on scholarship grants for Vietnamese students.
