Vietnam identifies criteria for modern industrial country
(VOVworld) - Scientists have gathered to discuss criteria for a modern industrial country as part of a report submitted to the national Party Congress. They pointed out key features such as institutional foundation, personnel, infrastructure and selective development of key industries.
They said economic restructuring and support industries are important to promote agricultural development. Deputy Head of the National Assembly Economic Committee, Nguyen Duc Kien, was speaking in the workshop in Hanoi on Thursday: “Criteria for a modern industrial country vary in different point in time. As a country with 73% of agricultural workforce, Vietnam needs to address the issues concerning agriculture, rural areas and urbanization before becoming an industrial nation.”
