Over the past 3 cycles of cooperation since 2006, the Vietnamese government and its social partners have worked closely with the ILO to improve the quality and sustainability of growth through human resource development, focusing on developing high‑quality human resources.

The stakeholders have promoted comprehensive, equal, and inclusive development through social policies, strengthening the social protection system, supporting vulnerable groups and strengthening labor market governance.

Luu Quang Tuan, Director of the International Cooperation Department of MOLISA said: “We need to continue to focus on employment, human resource development and social protection, while harmonizing the rights of employees and their employers in alignment with international economic integration and the national strategy on sustainable development and the UN Agenda on Sustainable Development. The Vietnam‑ILO National Cooperation Program on Decent Work in the 2022‑2026 period is a framework for the ILO and its tripartite partners to make annual plans and mobilize resources to promote decent, sustainable work in Vietnam.”

At the workshop, the delegates also discussed Vietnam’s efforts to eliminate child and forced labor.
