Vietnam, India to deepen comprehensive strategic partnership
(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh will pay an official visit to India and attend the 9th Delhi Dialogue, beginning next Monday at the invitation of Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj.

During the visit, the two sides are expected to discuss specific measures to implement the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and India, boost bilateral cooperation in various fields, and review regional and global issues of mutual concern.
The visit is part of activities to mark the 45th anniversary of Vietnam-India diplomatic ties and 25 years of establishing the ASEAN-India dialogue partnership. Vietnam and India set up a strategic partnership in 2007 which was promoted to a comprehensive level in 2016. The two countries are enjoying flourishing ties, with close cooperation in all fields, especially in politics, security, and national defense.
Vietnam is the coordinator of ASEAN-India relations for 2015-2018, and is exerting effort to promote ASEAN-India ties. Mr. Minh’s visit helps promote Vietnam’s role as a coordinator and foster ASEAN-India strategic partnership.
