While working with Gilbert F. Houngbo, ILO General Director, on Thursday, Mr. Dung called on the ILO to mobilize its resources to support research for the approval of Convention 87 and institutionalize the renovation policies of social insurance and employment.
He said, “Vietnam is proud to be a responsible member of the ILO and has realized its commitments to the ILO in life and laws. Vietnam highly appreciates the ILO’s support in past years, especially in employment and decent, sustainable work.”
Mr. Houngbo said his visit to Vietnam shows the ILO’s appreciation of Vietnam’s role and its contribution to global activities related to jobs, employment, and social welfare, and said the ILO will continue to support Vietnam in this field.
