(VOVworld) - Vietnam always values and prioritizes the fostering of its friendship and special solidarity with Laos, Defense Minister Ngo Xuan Lich told his Lao counterpart Chansamone Channhalat during their talks in Hanoi on Monday following a welcoming ceremony.

Both parties agreed to continue to fully and effectively realize the contents of the cooperation Protocol and plan, focusing on the exchange of visits, Party and political work, training, experience sharing, the search for and repatriation of the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who sacrificed their lives in Laos.

The two leaders pledged to strengthen discussions and consultations to find a common voice on regional and global security issues, contributing to maintaining ASEAN’s internal solidarity and central role, for regional and global peace, stability, and security.
