Vietnam, Laos hold 27th annual border meeting
(VOVWORLD) - The 27th annual meeting between border delegations of Vietnam and Laos took place in Hanoi on Saturday. The Vietnamese delegation was led by Le Hoai Trung, Deputy Foreign Minister and Head of the National Border Committee. The Lao delegation was led by Foreign Minister Xalomsay Commasit.

Both sides reviewed their border cooperation and the implementation of bilateral agreements on border and territorial sovereignty over the past year. They held a meeting between border localities to discuss free migrants and unregistered marriages. Both sides agreed to jointly manage the borderline in accordance with two new legal documents on border and finalize the planning of Vietnam-Laos border gate system development until 2025 and vision towards 2035.
The two delegations agreed that the next meeting will be held in Laos in the 4th quarter of 2018.
