Vietnam learns Norway’s marine farming technologies

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam has great potential to develop industrial marine aquaculture and processing, according to a seminar in Nha Trang city on Wednesday.

The seminar on sustainable technology for industrial marine aquaculture and processing was held by the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Norwegian Embassy. Participants discussed fish breeding, fish food, fish farming techniques, and seafood processing. The seminar introduced Norway’s advanced green technologies applied in industrial marine aquaculture and processing as well as some aquaculture models using Norway’s technologies in Van Phong Bay, Khanh Hoa province. Tran Huu The, Vice Chairman of Phu Yen province’s People’s Committee, said Norway’s green technology will help the local aquaculture sector solve its problems: “The recirculating aquaculture technique will help us in shrimp breeding.  Norway’s green techniques facilitate offshore fish breeding and help protect the marine environment”.

Vietnam aims to produce 1.8 million tons of aquaculture products with export turnover of 4 to 6 billion USD by 2030.
