Vietnam makes progress in promoting civil and political rights
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam shared its achievements in protecting and promoting civil and political rights in its third national report on implementation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) in Geneva on Monday.

Deputy Minister of Justice Nguyen Ngoc Khanh cited strong reforms in economics, law, justice, non-discrimination, and public administration. Khanh said the material and spiritual lives of Vietnamese people have improved and that all reform efforts have received public support.
The convention has showcased the achievements and commitment of the Vietnamese government in protecting and promoting human rights and freedom.
The ICCPR is one of the most important international conventions, covering all the civil and political rights of every individual. Vietnam joined the convention on September 24, 1982.
