Following the ceremony, the message of the supreme patriarch was presented by the Most Venerable Thich Duc Thanh, head of the Thua Thien-Hue branch of the Sangha. 

The Buddhist dignitary called on Buddhist monks and nuns and followers to support the spirit of “Wisdom - Discipline - Integration – Development”, which is essential for the national unity bloc and for national construction and defense.
Branches of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Can Tho and Chau Doc also held ceremonies to celebrate the birthday of Lord Buddha. 20 charity houses have been built for poor families in An Giang province. On the same day, Ninh Thuan provincial leaders visited the province’s Buddhist Sangha Executive Council.
