Vietnam ranks 54th in the global innovation startup ecosystem, up 5 places from last year, and has 4 technology platforms - VNG, VNPAY, Momo, and Sky Mavis - valued at over 1 billion USD. Vietnam has affirmed its position as one of the top three startup countries in Southeast Asia, along with Singapore and Indonesia.
Addressing the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam suggested that next year the Ministry refine and renew innovation mechanisms and policies and effectively implement a strategy for scientific-technological development and innovation until 2030.
Mr. Dam underscored the need to align public science and technology organizations with the master plan and create a mechanism for developing science and technology businesses, research institutes, and universities based on the spin-off business model.
He called for building e-Government towards a digital government associated with administrative reform, improving the business investment environment, and creating favorable conditions for people and businesses.
