(VOVworld) - Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh met officials of US Congress, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund during his visit to the US on Thursday. Earlier on Wednesday, the Deputy Prime Minister met with the Vietnamese Embassy staff and representatives of Vietnamese agencies in Washington DC. Mr Ninh acknowledged the embassy staff’s efforts in developing cooperative relations between Vietnam and the US, and noted that Vietnam is restructuring its economy. He called for measures to effectively attract more investment from the US, the world’s largest economy. He asked the embassy’s staff to promote people-to-people diplomacy, the close bonds between Vietnamese nationals abroad and their compatriots at home, and the close cooperation with US society.
