Vietnam, Philippines pledge to enhance cooperation in just energy transition

(VOVWORLD) - National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos, Jr. have agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation between their countries in new areas including just energy transition, safe digital transformation, and green energy.

During their meeting in Hanoi on Tuesday, the two leaders pledged to boost maritime cooperation and share their experiences in responding to climate change.

In order to raise bilateral trade to 10 billion USD, the two countries will facilitate a common market accessibility, boost rice trade, make use of signed agreements, and improve investment procedures, they noted.

The two leaders reiterated the importance of enhancing parliamentary cooperation while strengthening delegation and people-to-people exchanges.

The Vietnamese National Assembly is ready to welcome Filipino parliamentary delegations to come to share information and exchange experiences, said Chairman Hue. 

The two leaders pledged to continue to cooperate and support each other at multilateral forums, to strengthen their solidarity, and to uphold the central role of ASEAN, while sharing their common voice on regional security.
