Vietnam plays an important role in UK’s external relations, says former UK Prime Minister
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received in Hanoi on Friday Tony Blair, former UK Prime Minister and President of the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change (TBI).

The Vietnamese Prime Minister praised Mr. Tony Blair’s great contributions to the Vietnam-UK relationship during the latter’s tenure of the UK Prime Minister from 1997 to 2007 as well as TBI’s cooperation with Vietnam.
Mr. Chinh expressed his hope that Mr. Tony Blair would further contribute to promoting the Vietnam-UK strategic partnership on various areas and serve as a bridge connecting partners to help Vietnam in digital transformation, green transition, climate change response, circular economic development as well as attract high quality investment resources, particularly those from Europe.
Mr. Blair said Vietnam always plays an important role in the UK’s external relations, and praised the country’s development orientations which consider people the center, the master, the goal, and the resources for development.
As the President of the TBI Institute, Mr. Blair promised to continue to work Vietnam to promote cooperation in areas of the two countries’ strengths.
