Vietnam pledges stronger ties with Singapore: Party official

At the invitation of Singaporean Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, Mr. Trung, visited Singapore from January 7 to 11 and delivered a speech at the S. Rajaratnam Endowment Dialogue 2025 (SRED 2025), organized by the Yusof Ishak Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS).

During his visit, Mr. Le Hoai Trung paid a courtesy call on former Prime Minister and Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong, who is also Senior Advisor to the ruling People’s Action Party (PAP). He met with PAP Assistant Secretary-General and Minister for Education Chan Chun Sing, held discussions with Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, and engaged with key figures, including Temasek Group Chairman Lim Boon Heng, Temasek Foundation CEO Ng Boon Heong, Dean of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy Danny Quah, and ISEAS Director-General Choi Shing Kwok.

The delegation also laid wreaths at the Ho Chi Minh Monument, visited several economic and cultural establishments, and met with officials from the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore.

In meetings with senior Singaporean leaders, he praised the strong cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore, emphasizing the close relationship between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the People’s Action Party, significant investment projects, human resource training programs, and collaboration on international issues.

At the S. Rajaratnam Endowment Dialogue, Mr. Le Hoai Trung highlighted Vietnam's key achievements during 40 years of national renewal, Vietnam's foreign policy, and its long-term development goals in the new era of national rise and happiness for the Vietnamese people.

Both sides agreed to enhance the implementation of high-level agreements between the two countries, increase exchanges of delegations at all levels, and maximize the effectiveness of existing cooperation mechanisms to deepen and expand Vietnam-Singapore collaboration in the future.
