The Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Working Group will review the country’s National Report under the UNHRC’s fourth cycle of the UPR mechanism. Deputy Foreign Minister Do Hung Viet said that preparation for the dialogue has been completed.

"We strictly pursue the motto of ensuring respect, understanding, dialogue and cooperation, and human rights for all while developing the report and participating in the human rights council. The recommendations we received during the report preparation are consistent with the priorities we are committing to such as human rights in climate change, rights of people with disabilities, and the rights to medical health, and anti-discrimination. We are also promoting a number of initiatives at the human rights council. We will work to engage more in the human rights council in the coming time,” said Viet.

At the dialogue, Vietnam will report on human rights in Vietnam since the previous UPR, provide an update on Vietnam’s latest legal frameworks on human rights, its socio-economic achievements, and human rights assurance in Vietnam. Vietnam is ready to engage in a dialogue with other countries in a spirit of cooperation, equality and constructiveness.
