Vietnam supports  peacekeeping operations and initiatives to improve peacekeeping effectiveness

At a UN Security Council meeting on Wednesday, Ambassador Quy acknowledged the sacrifice and dedication of the UN police force and its increasing role, and welcomed the efforts of peacekeeping forces like the UN police in helping nations cope with the COVID-19 pandemic. He called for increasing the number of women in the peacekeeping force and more support policies to ensure the safety, security, and working environment for female peacekeepers. The Ambassador said Vietnam is making preparations to join the UN police force.
