Vietnam Red Cross Society’s humanitarian activities praised

(VOVworld)- The President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan has praised the Vietnam Red Cross Society for its active role in humanitarian movements. He urged the organization to further promote the national unity in caring for disadvantaged people and overcoming consequences of natural disasters. Nhan stressed the need to develop humanitarian coordination programs between the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Red Cross Society, especially in the movement “Tet for the poor and victims of Agent Orange/dioxin. Last year, the Red Cross Society mobilized more than 2.7 trillion VND to help disadvantaged people to improve their lives and contribute to ensuring social security.
