Vietnam regards Japan as leading, long-term strategic partner
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam regards Japan as its leading, long-term, and reliable partner, said Party General Secretary and President Nguyen PhuTrong during a telephone talk with President of the Liberal Democratic Party and Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide on Monday.

Mr. Trong affirmed that the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Liberal Democratic Party have seen good relations over the past years. He urged the two countries to boost exchanges, meetings and contacts at all levels and asked Japan to continue supporting Vietnam to successfully implement its socio-economic development plans and strategies.
Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide spoke highly of the Vietnam-Japan extensive strategic partnership and showed determination to further contribute to the development of bilateral ties. He said Japan would continue to join Vietnam in the fight against COVID-19 and work closely to develop relations in a comprehensive, practical and effective manner to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties in 2023.
The two leaders also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
