On the 51st anniversary of the World Standards Day 2021, October 14, Le Xuan Dinh, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, said Vietnam is an official member of the three leading standardization organisations - the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and the International Food Standards (CODEX). According to Dinh, Vietnam has the right and obligation to participate in developing international standards so that Vietnamese products and goods can reach the world market. The standards will contribute to improving the quality of Vietnam's key products, said Dinh.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Hoang Linh, Deputy Director of the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality of Vietnam at the Ministry of Science and Technology, said this year’s World Standards Day is themed “Standards for SDGs, Our Shared Vision for a Better”.

“This year's theme wants to emphasize the role of standards in helping Governments, organizations and individuals involved to use it as a tool to achieve the UN sustainable development goals and the SDGs set by each country," according to Linh.
