Vietnam secures enough COVID-19 vaccines for 70% of its population: President
(VOVWORLD) - President Nguyen Xuan Phuc said Vietnam has secured enough vaccines to cover 70% of its population in the coming time.

Mr. Phuc was speaking during an online meeting with voters in Cu Chi district of Ho Chi Minh City on Monday. Therefore, Mr. Phuc said, he agreed with the Government’s decision to switch away from “Zero COVID-19” to safe and flexible adaptation to and effective management of the pandemic.
“The Party and State have always paid attention to vaccinating children. The Ministry of Health plans to start vaccinating children aged between 12 and 17 years old against COVID-19 later this month," Mr. Phuc said.
"During our recent visit to Cuba, we bought 5 million vaccine doses for adults and another 5 million for children. While in the US, we visited Pfizer, one of the world's leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology corporations, to accelerate the purchase of vaccines. Pfizer pledged to provide 20 million vaccines for children.”
President Phuc also agreed on the voters’ proposal to increase investment in the healthcare sector in the context of new arising challenges.
