Vietnam has controled risks from outside, including suspending visas, requiring healthcare declaration, and conducting tests for people returning from areas hit by the COVID-19 epidemic.
Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long said: "A key point in our strategy is to thoroughly detect the source of infections and stamp them out. Both Vietnamese citizens and foreigners arriving in Vietnam have been put into quarantine. Right at the quarantine zones, we have detected 9 infection cases who are those coming from European and ASEAN countries."
Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam asked relevant ministries and agencies to strictly follow regulations set at quarantine zones, prepare necessary healthcare equipment, speed up all-people health declaration, and pay more attention to protecting the health of the elderly and those with underlying diseases.
