During talks afterwards, the two leaders agreed on major directions for cooperation, promoting connectivity between the two economies, digital economy, digital transformation, innovation, high-quality human resources development, and green and sustainable development.

Also on Friday, President Phuc held talks with Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. They  agreed to soon restore high-level visits and contacts, boost defense and security cooperation, effectively implement bilateral cooperation mechanisms, especially the ministerial mechanism on connecting the two economies, and promote cooperation within the framework of the Vietnam-Singapore Economic Connectivity Agreement.

President Phuc and PM Lee stressed the need to develop Vietnam-Singapore industrial parks (VSIP) into high-tech, smart and environmentally friendly parks,  effectively take advantage of new-generation free trade agreements between the two countries like CPTPP and RCEP.

The two leaders agreed to expand cooperation in innovation, digital transformation, digital economy, and green and sustainable development, thereby encouraging the connection between the two economies of Vietnam and Singapore in the digital platform.

They affirmed their continued cooperation and mutual support at regional and global multilateral forums. Both emphasized the importance of maintaining peace, stability, security, safety and freedom of navigation and overflight in the East Sea, abiding by the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), fully implementing the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC) and negotiating a Code of Conduct in the East Sea (COC).

President Phuc and Prime Minister Lee witnessed the exchange of five bilateral cooperation documents.
