At the invitation of the host country’s Prime Minister Hunsen, Prime Minister Chinh delivered his online speech from Hanoi to the 2nd ASEAN Women Leaders’ Summit which opened in Cambodia on Wednesday.
The event aimed to encourage cooperation and joint commitment in promoting women’s entrepreneurship as a key driving force for sustainable and resilient socio-economic recovery and development towards building a common future and prosperity.
PM Chinh praised the event, an initiative of Vietnam as ASEAN Chair in 2020, to strengthen women’s role and value in social economic development as well as the ASEAN commitment to gender equality and women empowerment.
“We should facilitate female enterprises’ sustainable contribution to development with a consistent legal framework to nurture women’s innovation, business start-up and participation in law making. Communications on gender equality and women empowerment should be accelerated in national, regional and international scale to fully tap women’s potential,” PM Chinh said.
