At the Fourth Committee of the 70th session of the General Assembly on Agenda Item 56 “Comprehensive review of the whole question of peacekeeping operations in all their aspects,” held in New York on Wednesday, Ms. Nga said Vietnam is preparing to dispatch a level-two field hospital and an engineering company to UN peacekeeping missions and will continue sending liaison officers and staff officers. The ambassador said it is essential for the UN peace operations to uphold the principles of the UN Charter, as well as the guiding principles of the operations.
She emphasized the need for closer consultation with the countries who contribute troops and police and said the safety and security of UN personnel should be a primary concern.
