Vietnam to issue new policy on visas for foreign tourists

(VOVWORLD) - The Foreign Ministry will coordinate with the tourism ministry to complete plans for resuming tourism and devise a new policy on visas for foreign tourists, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang told a press conference on Thursday.

According to Hang, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has been directed to create new regulations concerning foreign visitors and work with other ministries and agencies to make a detailed report on visa policy.

14 countries and territories have so far recognized Vietnam’s vaccine passport and a number of other partners are considering doing the same, she said. They are Japan, the US, the UK, Australia, India, Belarus, Cambodia, the Philippines, Palestine, the Maldives, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Egypt, and Turkey.

Vietnam has accepted the vaccination certificates or vaccine passports of 79 countries and territories.
