Vietnam treasures traditional friendship with DPRK
(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has reiterated Vietnam treasures and wants to develop the traditional friendship with the DPRK.

At a meeting with DPRK Chairman Kim Jong-un in Hanoi on Friday, Mr. Phuc said Vietnam supports DPRK’s economic development and is ready to work the DPRK to boost win-win cooperation for the peoples’ benefit and in accordance with each country’s international commitment. The PM affirmed Vietnam’s willingness to jointly organize activities to mark the 70th anniversary of Vietnam-DPRK diplomatic ties in 2020.
Mr. Phuc voiced Vietnam’s support for a Korean peninsula of peace, stability, cooperation, and development. He welcomed efforts of the DPRK and the US at their second summit in Hanoi and expressed his hope that parties involved will continue promoting dialogue and peacefully settle relevant issues. Vietnam has supported and will continue to support this process, said PM Phuc.
The DPRK Chairman said he is impressed with Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements and affirmed DPRK unwavering stance of continuing to consolidate and develop the traditional friendship nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh and leader Kim Il-sung. Mr. Kim praised Vietnam’s important role in the international arena, its warm, hospitable reception, and strenuous effort for the second DPRK-USA Summit.
