Vietnam treasures UN development assistance: Ambassador
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam values the support of the United Nations and its Resident Coordinator Pauline Tamesis in fulfilling Vietnam’s Sustainable Development Goals and its development strategies and plans, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the UN, said Thursday.

Receiving Ms. Tamesis at the Vietnamese Delegation’s headquarters in New York, Mr. Giang shared some key priorities that Vietnam will promote at the UN, such as implementing the Pact for the Future, the Global Compact, and the Convention on Cybercrime, and advancing human rights.
He urged the UN to continue supporting Vietnam in climate change response, education, training, digital transformation, gender equality, science, technology, and development financing.
Ms. Tamesis applauded Vietnam's contributions to UN activities and said UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has a deep affection for Vietnam. She expressed her gratitude for Vietnam's support, and acknowledged the ambassador's suggestions regarding areas where the UN can engage more actively in the future.
Ms. Tamesis also said she hopes the UN will continue making positive contributions to Vietnam's socio-economic policies and plans.
