Vietnam, UK beef up vocational education cooperation
(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam and the UK signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday for cooperation in vocational education. The signatories were Vietnamese Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung, and British Ambassador to Vietnam Gareth Ward.

The MoU is expected to create a legal framework for bilateral cooperation, toward the goal of vocational education development in Vietnam, and promoting the bilateral strategic partnership between the two countries.
Minister Dao Ngoc Dung said: "Vietnam now has more than 1,900 vocational training establishments. We thank the British government for supporting us in education and also vocational training. The UK has helped us organize short courses on improving teachers’ knowledge on business and startup, vocational training methodology, and English language training for vocational trainers. The UK has also helped us with developing quality assurance in 21 colleges, increase links between Vietnamese vocational training schools and their British partners."
The two sides also discussed cooperation in supporting victims of human trafficking, child care, and protection.
