Vietnam, UK strengthen cooperation in anti-human trafficking
(VOVWORLD) - The UK will continue to work closely with Vietnam to prevent and combat illegal migration and modern slavery, said the UK's Migration and Modern Slavery Envoy Andrew Patrick during recent working sessions with Vietnamese ministries.

Meeting with leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs, Mr. Patrick said prevention and combat of illegal migration and modern slavery is among the top priorities of the British government. He promised to share information, prosecute criminals, and protect vulnerable people.
High on the agenda was the evaluation of the UK-Vietnam Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in anti-human trafficking signed in 2018. The leaders explored opportunities for cooperation in capacity building and assistance for and protection of victims of human trafficking.
Mr. Patrick’s visit to Vietnam over the past two days is part of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-UK diplomatic ties.
