Vietnam, UN coordinate to implement sustainable development goals
(VOVWORLD) -Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang has expressed thanks to the UN for the valuable support and assistance it has provided Vietnam during the past 45 years, especially in providing vaccines, equipment, and medical supplies to Vietnam during the COVID-19 pandemic through the COVAX mechanism.

During a reception for UN Resident Coordinator in Vietnam Pauline Tamesis in Hanoi on Thursday, Mr. Quang said the Vietnamese Government will assign specialised agencies to create a unified mechanism and specific policies to promote cooperation with the UN, especially on sustainable development projects to 2030.
He called for more support from the UN to help Vietnam respond to climate change and fulfill its commitment to achieving net zero emissions by 2050.
Ms. Tamesis praised Vietnam's active and effective contributions to the UN’s activities. She said the UN will continue to help Vietnam seize new opportunities, respond to challenges, mobilize international resources, and achieve its socio-economic development goals.
