(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam has reinforced its standing in the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community and in labor, gender equality, social welfare, and the rights of women, children, and migrant workers, according to a Hanoi meeting on Monday.

At the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs' meeting on external activities in 2023 and plans for 2024, reports said the Ministry presided over the signing of seven international agreements at the ministerial level and five at the department and general department level.
The ministry also secured foreign non-governmental aid predominantly directed toward supporting children, people with disabilities, and disadvantaged groups.
In 2024, the Ministry aims to enhance cooperation mechanisms, implement existing agreements with partners. It will facilitate the negotiation and signing of a Social Insurance Agreement with Japan and a Memorandum of Understanding with Germany's Federal Employment Agency on labor market development and collaboration in skilled labor migration.
